Here is to thirty-two years

Today I am thirty-two years old, it is kind of weird because honestly I don’t feel any different than when I was in my twenty’s. Sure my body isn’t what it used to be but that’s just the way things go. Here are just a few things I’ve learned over the years.

First of all would have to be the importance of being true to yourself. At the end of the day if you aren’t happy with yourself then it is up to you to fix it. Only you are responsible for being happy as no one and nothing can make you happy. If you aren’t happy then go out and find someone else to make happy. You’ll find that if you are helping others you will one stop thinking about your own problems but you will also see that others have more problems than you. You can learn to be happy with what you have because someone inevitably has it worse than you do.

Second, would be to be true to the ones you love. It is those individuals in your life that will help get you through the tough times. When the world seems like it rests on your shoulders, it is your friends and your family that will be there to love you and take care of you in your time of need. I think this applies the most to our Heavenly Father, he is the one that that you should rely on the most no matter what the circumstances.

Third, live your life with courage. This could go under being true to yourself but I think it belongs in its own category. Life is difficult enough but sometimes when life throws its best at you, you need to hunker down and do what is right without regard to consequences. It may seem that the consequences are too much for you however I promise you that if you will do what is right everything will work out in the end. Now perhaps it won’t be right in this life and you may have to wait until the life to come but I assure you that everything will work out.

Finally, don’t be afraid to love. This word certainly has enough definitions associated with it but I think it is important to love despite what has happened to you. No matter who you are you will have been hurt at one point or another in your life. The key is to learn the lessons that relationship can teach you and move on. But I think the surest way to sabotage a new relationship is to not love for fear of being hurt.

These are just a few of the things that I want to share with you that I have learned, of course they aren’t conclusive but I think they are worth mentioning.
