My heart goes out to those people who due to the actions of another are experiencing the loss of a loved one. In the news lately there have been a string of heinous crimes. The shooting at Fort Hood, the office rampage in Florida, the boy who was set on fire for $40, the girl who was gang raped in front of the Richmond High School, and so many more than I can’t list them all. I think these events hint at a greater underlying problem and that is that we as a nation are suffering. There is so much unrest in the world today, people are confused and they don’t know where to turn for guidance. Many people are making decisions based on the here and the now instead of the future. These decisions cause people to hurt others because they cannot see beyond their own pain or suffering and in turn they cause others to feel the pain and suffering they are feeling. Those people then go onto cause pain in others. It is a vicious cycle.
There is a solution to breaking the cycle and that is to find faith and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is he who we must turn to, to cast our burdens at His feet. He can heal the nation, for his love is infinite and eternal. There is no amount of pain or sorrow that he can’t heal. He beckons us all to, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30)
With so many problems it is no wonder that we feel the burdens of this life pull at us in every direction. Unfortunately some of us are better equipped than others to deal with the pressures that we face. Some people break under the pressure. That doesn’t mean that they aren’t responsible for their actions however, we don’t always quite understand what an individual is facing, we cannot see the sorrow. Therefore we must suspend judgment for someone who does know, and then we are free to live our life with patience and understanding.

I like your website. You’ve done a good job here with the famous qoutes and everything.
I think it is very important to remember to keep our nation and those suffering in our prayers. I’m not sure who said this, but I’ve heard the quote that a man is strongest when on his knees. I feel that’s the same with our country. The more that we pray for miracles and healing, the stronger our nation will be.

This is true, a family or a nation that prays is more fortified to withstand the storms that come upon us. I think it has to do most with being able to look beyond the moment and know that God is at the helm. It brings a peace that you otherwise wouldn’t have.
