I wanted to share a little Christmas miracle that happened to me and my wife. It was the usual sort of day before Christmas. We still had no idea what to get my brother in-law or my father in-law. I took a little break from blogging, mostly because I wasn’t really feeling the need to share everything that was going on, but also because I have been struggling immensely with what to do with my major. I have decided that for the sake of my family and the sake of my sanity that I am going to change my major to Criminology and Justice Studies. Today I was blessed to experience the kindness of a stranger. It wasn’t something huge at least in the grand scheme of things but I feel that it certainly deserves acknowledgement and praise. Today my wife and I were watching Christmas movies; it was a nice way to spend Sunday. It started with an 80’s classic “Smokey Mountain Christmas” with Dolly Parton and Lee Majors. I liked this movie because although the focus wasn’t on the Savior it was on the family and how it didn’t matter who your family was but rather that you were a part of a family and how you treated your family. Today started my Thanksgiving Break; it will be nice to have some time off from school. Although, honestly I will still be working on school work, calculus is certainly going to get some extra time this week. For my wedding my wife and I received a plaque with “Everyday is a gift” inscribed on it. It now hangs on one of our walls as a constant reminder of how precious the present is, and how important it is to not take the day for granted. I think we often get caught up in the day to day grind of life and forget how important it is to treasure what we have in our life. I was watching Glee this evening and had a few thoughts, first of all I thought it was great when Finn was singing to “his” unborn child, I know that someday when I am about to be a father I will probably do the same.
